    NEW OLD STOCK RUSSWIN 11248 ENTRY LOCK w/CYLINDER & KEYS 7 3/4" FACE NICE(11811)
    Vintage:
RUSSWIN circa 1920 - 1950 entry mortise lock lock.   NEW OLD STOCK, NEVER INSTALLED:
Model 11248 1/2 which means it is exactly like the 11248 except it does not have a deadbolt built into the face of the lock.
Comes with a original new Security Guard brass cylinder and two keys.
Heavy brass faceplate with body of the lock clearly maker marked 'RUSSWIN', one of America's great manufacturers of builder's hardware during the second half of the 19th & early part of the 20th Century.
    Dimensions as follows:
    FACEPLATE:
Brass front plate measures  7 3/4" long, 1" wide, 1/8" thick.
    BOX:
Box is 3 1/4" deep from the back of the front plate and it is 5 1/2" top to bottom.
    SCREWS:
Screws are on 6 3/4" centers.
    BACKSET:
Backset (the distance from the front of the front plate to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 1/2".
    REVERSIBILITY:
The lock is reversible.  Functions perfectly.  Accommodates a split knob post of 5/16" on the one side and 3/8" on the outside.
    NOTE:
The 11248 was made with several variations although the size of the lock body is the same and faceplate is the same on all of them.  This particular one is the style without the dead bolt.  Key releases the lock from the outside.  Push buttons on the side lock or unlock the door and, the safety feature of this lock is that it is never lock from the inside so as to allow for emergency exit without have to find a key or thumb release.
If you are replacing an identical lock, you may have everything you need.  However, if you need a split knob post or knobs, let us know as we may have what you need in stock and we can add that to your order and include in the same box when shipping.
Nice heavy duty and with keys!
