    Description

    A very early wrought iron surface mount stock lock dead bolt, circa 1800, complete with key, drive-in jamb keeper, and wrought iron key escutcheon for off-side.  Stock locks had wrought iron lock works mortised into a block of wood to mount.   This lock features decorative wrought iron trim on both ends of the visible front as well as a rectangular keyhole surround.
    Made for a right hand door opening inward.
    Keyed access from both outside and inside.  The wooden portion measures

    .  This bolt is non-reversible, right hand only.  With iron key 4" in length - bolt works well.  The wrought iron plate covering the inner works visible on the back measures 4" at highest x 6 1/4" deep.  The 1  5/8" x 3/8" bolt throws 3/4".  Key escutcheon measures 2  1/2" x 1  1/2".  Drive-in keeper measures 2  5/8" across the front x 1" wide and mounts extend 2  1/4".  Being sold as found.
